Organic Mimicry of Prosthesis
We use prosthesis to compensate for the loss of our organs, so the inorganic substances become part of us. With prosthesis replacing the void, real organ pacing to failure, a mix feelings towards prosthesis came with a special ambiguity; patients depending on them but look for independence, inorganic prosthesis combine with organic to fulfill biological function.
I created this series with oral prosthesis. Their shapes evolve from single organs to multiple creatures’ mimicry. Through the hands of art and science to enhance the organic part of prosthesis, as to show the discrepancy of organic-inorganic ambiguity.
